MOVING TOGETHER

SOMETIMES SERVING PEOPLE TAKES A PERSONAL TOUCH.

Age Friendly Community Initiatives, Moving Together project works with local government, community service agencies, Interior Health, BC Transit, and other transportation providers to improve transportation services for seniors in the West Kootenays.

The project is also home to the West Kootenay Seniors Transportation Co-coordinator. This position is a resource for seniors that provides support to help them plan a trip to a medical appointment or other activity, sign up for services like HandyDART or a volunteer driver program. The worker travels throughout the West Kootenays and will meet with seniors in their homes or communities.

By supporting seniors transportation needs, Moving Together helps people fully participate in their communities.
